Abstract

Kajian ini meneliti gen WRKY dalam tanaman bijirin yang berperanan penting dalam tindak balas terhadap tekanan abiotik dan biotik. Dengan menggunakan 26 jujukan gen WRKY dari spesies seperti Oryza sativa (Japonica Group), Glycine max, Sorghum bicolor, dan Zea mays, kajian ini mengkaji motif dan domain yang berkaitan dengan tindak balas terhadap tekanan menggunakan alat bioinformatik seperti MEME dan Mega11. Analisis mengenal pasti 10 motif utama, termasuk motif terpulihara dalam semua gen WRKY. Analisis filogeni menunjukkan pengelompokkan gen WRKY adalah berdasarkan spesies tanaman. Kajian ini menunjukkan bahawa gen WRKY ini berupaya digunakan sebagai gen saringan dalam pembiakbakaan atau sebagai gen dalam penghasilan tumbuhan transgenik.

This study investigates WRKY genes in cereal crops that play a crucial role in responses to abiotic and biotic stresses. Using 26 WRKY gene sequences from species such as Oryza sativa (Japonica Group), Glycine max, Sorghum bicolor, and Zea mays, the study examines motifs and domains associated with stress responses using bioinformatics tools like MEME and Mega11. The analysis identified 10 key motifs in all WRKY genes. Phylogenetic analysis revealed that WRKY gene clustering is species-specific. This study suggests that these WRKY genes have potential applications as marker genes in breeding programs or as genes in the development of transgenic plants.
