A study on the community structure and tree stands was conducted in Paya Pasir Forest Reserve, Temerloh, Pahang. This forest is a logged lowland dipterocarp forest and the smallest forest in the Temerloh district. Two plots, each measuring 20 m x 20 m, were randomly established. The total plot area was 0.08 hectares. All trees with a diameter at breast height (DBH) of 5.0 cm and above were tagged and measured. Samples were collected, preserved, and identified to the species level. A total of 96 individuals from 38 species, 30 genera, and 22 families were recorded. Guttiferae was the largest family, represented by five species. Syzygium (Myrtaceae) was the largest genus, represented by four species. The DBH classes were divided into four groups. The largest tree was Dialium platysepalum (Leguminosae) with a DBH of 50.0 cm. Dipterocarpaceae was represented by only one genus, one species, and two individuals. This study indicates that Paya Pasir Forest Reserve lacks commercially valuable tree species. However, further research with larger plot sizes is needed to confirm this observation.
