The process of recording data plays a very important role nowadays, partly for use in data analysis in engineering, science, marketing analysis, and other applications. The data logging equipment collected raw data such as temperature, humidity, electrical energy, etc. for a specified period and stored it in the device's internal memory. However, the equipment mentioned here was still expensive. Therefore, this work aimed to design and use a low-cost electric power monitoring system that can display and log real-time power with Internet of Things (IoT) devices in order to reduce cost of the equipment. The measured real-time data were displayed through a dashboard application developed for the Android operating system. The prototype was tested in a case study with AC loads, and it was found that the real-time data displayed on the application and the recorded data logging had lower discrepancies compared to standard measuring instruments, but it had several times cheaper and had more convenience of bringing data exported in Excel files for analysis via Android-operating smartphones.
