Flexible Double Weight (FDW) Optical Code Division Multiple Access (OCDMA) Code is a newly developed code within DW family. Data format in communication system consist of two types which is Non-Return Zero (NRZ) and Return Zero (RZ) line code. Simulation analysis was carried out by using simulation tools Optisystem 15 to determine the performance of FDW system with different data formats. The analysis used different detection technique such as Single-Photodiode Detection (SPD) and Spectral Direct Detection (SDD). Based on the observation, NRZ has better performance than RZ as NRZ data transmission can reach 10 km more than RZ. RZ has better Bit Error Rate (BER) than NRZ at shorter fiber length. Different detection technique has the highest impact on FDW system performance as it eliminates Multiple Access Interference (MAI) and suppress Phase Induced Intensity Noise (PIIN). FDW system with SPD using NRZ data format has best results as it can support the longest fiber length at 5 Gbps bit rate.
