The problem of flow around the cylinder represents a challenge related to the variation in the flow turbulence that surrounds the cylinder; this challenge will rise dramatically, especially when the cylinder is nearby the transverse vane. The current work concentrates on the vane effect on the flow field that surrounds the cylinder. The ANSYS fluent software is utilized for the numerical analysis. The hydraulic variables included in the current investigation are static pressure, pressure coefficient, flow velocity in the -direction, flow velocity in the -direction, tangential flow velocity, turbulent intensity, eddy viscosity, turbulent kinetic energy, and turbulent dissipation rate. The cylinder diameter, vane dimensions, and flow velocity used in this study are considered constant. The study adopted different distances between the cylinder and vane, but the distance is considered an important variable expressed in terms of the cylinder diameter. This study utilized four different distances between the vane and the cylinder. It also adopted the case of direct touch between the vane and the cylinder. From the numerical analysis, it is found that the vane has a sensible vital role in dominating the flow field around the cylinder.
