Abstract

Concrete industries and researchers have devoted great efforts to promoting sustainability in the construction sector. This includes finding innovative alternatives to OPC concrete to ensure environmental sustainability and prevent the depletion of natural resources. The present research explained the steps to develop a bond stress-slip model for high calcium fly ash (HCFA) geopolymer concrete based on the experimental results in the literature. This model is based on the concrete compressive strength (fc), concrete cover (Cc), and bar diameter (db), which are considered the most influential parameters on the bond response between the reinforcement and surrounding concrete. The regressed model shows a quite accurate prediction of the bond behaviour of HCFA, particularly those with high strength. The slight difference was attributed to the difficulty in identifying the exact values of  Slips (δr1 and δr2).
