Abstract

The perovskite structure of La0.7Pb0.3MnO3 has been investigated. The sample has been prepared using the solid-state method. The structural analysis of the sample was carried out by using X-ray diffraction (XRD). The Rietveld refinement technique was applied to refine and determine the structural parameters of the sample. The XRD analysis shows that the compound exhibits a single phase and is crystalized in a rhombohedral structure with a space group of R-3c. The tolerance factor of the sample was calculated to determine the stability of the structure. The visualisation of the sample structure using VESTA software indicates the formation of the MnO6 octahedral structure. The FTIR revealed the absorption band of the sample is around 496 cm-1, corresponding with the stretching vibration of the Mn-O bond. The AC susceptibility and Vibrating-sample Magnetometer (VSM) were done to study the magnetic properties of the sample and confirm the transition from ferromagnetic (FM) to paramagnetic (PM) at 298K with a maximum value of magnetization of 37.77 emu/g.
